San Luis Obispo This
March, the Saugus Band & Color Guard will travel to San Luis Obispo on the organization's

to earn money toward tour payment are available through fundraisers during the
fall semester. Tour
Fundraising What
is tour fundraising?
Tour fundraising is strictly for the benefit of each student who chooses to pay
for or offset the cost of their Spring Tour with the Band program. What
kind of tour fundraising is available to the students? (dates are tentative,
check the calendar page)
August 18 - September 2: Sees Candy Bar Sales, $1.50 per bar (50% profit)
September 20: Bowl-a-Thon, get pledges for the amount of pin you knock down
(100% profit)
October 6 - 17: Cheesecakes, $13.00 per cheesecake (40% profit) Where
does the profit go?
Each member of the band and color guard has their own individual account. After
every fundraiser, accounts are updated and posted in the band room. If a student
leaves the program, funds stay with the booster organization. It is not possible
to refund these monies due to policy. What
if I raise more money than the trip costs?
Excess amounts of funds raised in an individual account will carry over to the
next year. Seniors can not carry funds over due to policies. Their money will
revert to the booster organization. Do
any other fundraisers count for tour?
Only the three above stated fundraisers count for tour fundraising. All other
fundraisers such as the Lombardi Ranch Bake sale, ad sales for Invitational, the
Invitational itself, go to support the entire band and color guard program to
pay for instruments, music, field show competitions, etc. When
completing a fundraiser, how should I turn in the money?
Always put the money or checks in an envelope and address in the following manner
to ensure no problems:
Student's name
Type of fundraiser
dollar amount
Never turn in coin or paper money if possible. Checks are always better than
cash because they can be traced more easily. Checks for Tour fundraisers should
be made payable to "Saugus Band and Color Guard." |
