Jazz Festivals 2008

Recording Session

Jazz Band auditions are held during band camp in August of each year. All students who wish to audition must audition with the instrument you will play in the jazz band. Rehearsals begin in November after marching band season. The Jazz Band performs at band concerts, Jazz Nights, jazz festivals and other venues. Members of the Jazz Band also perform with the concert band.

Course Outline

Jazz Nights at Vincenzo's Pizza Restaurant in Saugus begin in December and continue until May on the second  or third Wednesday of each month. Performances begin at 6:30 p.m.  Come and enjoy an evening of great music and great pizza.

The Jazz Band will have a professional recording session, in the band room, to make a CD that will be available for purchase at the end of the year. The date of the session will be announced in the spring. Set up begins at 8:00 a.m. with warm up for each section throughout the morning. Recording begins at noon and continues until 4:00 p.m.
