Band Spirit Pack Information
and Membership Form

Introduction:
This letter serves to inform the students and parents of members of the Saugus High School Band of their obligations to the financial support of the Saugus High Band Program. Parents are required to sign the Spirit Pack Form and return it along with any required payments. Failure to meet this deadline and make the minimum payment will result in no equipment or materials to be issued or ordered for the student.

A. Saugus High School Band Spirit Pack
The "Saugus Band Spirit Pack" will be utilized by the band for the up coming school year. The Spirit pack is patterned after the Spirit packs required by other school organizations.

Philosophy: The rationale for the spirit pack is:

1. Better packaging and presentation of materials already required of band members necessary to participate in the organization.
2. Make allowances for upper class students to acquire certain special purchase items on an "as needed basis"
3. Includes money saving items that both students and parents can utilize for the support and promotion of the Saugus High Band Program.
4. Helps to financially promote, support, and augment the fundraising efforts and budgetary needs of the organization

Spirit Pack Items: The following items are included in the "Band Spirit Pack":
1. 1 Custom Souvenir T-shirt for member
2. 1 Custom Souvenir T-shirt for parents
3. 1 pair of Marching Band Gloves (wind players only)
4. 1 Drum Key (percussion players only)
5. All banquet awards (Letters, Medals, Plaques, etc.) meal cost not included
6. 1 pair Marching Band Shoes needed for competitions and performances
7. 1 Blue Polo Performance Shirt needed for special performances.
numbers 6 and 7 are for new members only

B. Mandatory Fund Raising:
Each family is assessed a mandatory fundraising obligation of $100.00. These funds go to supporting the entire band program for items such as transportation, equipment, instruments, uniform maintenance and up keep, music and host of other expenses associated with the program.
